Operating Profit of the Banks 2023: Despite the turbulent situation in the world economy, there has been a positive change in the profit index of the country’s banks. Pre-tax profits of most banks increased at the end of 2023, despite the challenges in the business environment.
The operating profit of a bank is the profit minus expenses. It is not the actual profit of a bank. From this profit, provisions are made against defaulted loans and other assets, and taxes are paid to the government. The actual or net profit of a bank, after provisioning and tax, represents its true financial performance.
